I’m looking for an outside security camera. I need one that will save images & record when there is motion detected. When I talked to someone they said I couldn’t do this without a DVR.

So I came up with these two cameras:

Which would you prefer I buy?

Hello looking for an outdoor security system for a farm. Would like a system that has around 4 cameras, must have night vision, and must be able to hook up to a computer that will store the images/video and ftp them to my server. Also motion detection is a must. Wireless is not a must as the building where the cameras will be placed will also store the computer.

I’m looking for all this for under 0…Any ideas? THANKS!!

I am shopping an 8 camera security system with night vision and motion recording for a small retail business. I need excellent resolution to capture and record shoplifting and exterior vandalism. I have looked all over the web for system and camera reviews – CNET, Consumer Reports, Google and I can’t find objective reviews just sites selling product. Can anyone here make a suggestion? All systems cannot be equal.

Can some one help me where to find a video surveillance camera that have to meet the following criteria.
1. Night vision (not low light res)
2. Motion activated
3. Wireless
4. PC compatible for recording ( maybe plug & play)?

Sorry I can’t be more specific, but if I knew what it was called I wouldn’t have to ask. Here’s a picture.

From what I can tell, there’s two camera’s, a PIR motion detector, a speaker?, and possibly a microphone? They two circles at the bottom look like ultrasonic sensors, but I don’t see why they would be necessary, there’s some LED’s (possibly IR) so it could be night vision, but if so they’re arranged oddly, usually they’re around the camera lens.

In addition, it appears to be able to to rotate and look up and down, but I’ve never seen it do so.

I’m not sure why it would need stereoscopic camera’s, unless it was for some kind of facial recognition application. From what I understand facial recognition (in uncontrolled conditions ie. not sitting in front of the camera) is not commercially viable yet – have you ever seen something like it?

Edit: it just seems like massive overkill to me. The strange thing is I’m fairly sure that it’s not facial recognition, cause that would be an ethical issue if they didn’t tell us about it, but that still leaves the question, what the hell are the stereoscopic camera’s for? – I can’t see why 3D security footage would do anything other than create more storage requirements.

Hello.

I am trying to find a IP Camera Kit, atleast 4 Cameras so i can install it onto a premise I have. the reason i chose a IP Camera kit is that it can be veiws over logn distances, eg, over a DVR server. It is best DECENTRAIZED so i can record it onto a SD card, Flash Drive, so on.

I also want It to have a good range, can be recorded in LOW LGIHT coniditions, night Vision best enabled. If you can, please can you see if heres a Infared enabled too. And it has to be wireless, small and discret.

Can you please also offer me a DVR server solution, where to buy a DVR server?

And best if the Cameras will start recording if a motion triggers it, a motiond ector will trigger the camera to start recording, but that is optional.

Also please reccomend me a 2 amera OUTDOOR, Durable IP/CCTV kit. Wireless also please.

And also, can you try finig DISCRET cameras that cna be connected to a TV and onto a recoridng device please. What i mean is very small cameras that are hidden eg, inside a pot of flowers, etc..

Can the IP cameras have good quality please.

I know its alot of questions, so sorry :/ Please help me answer them!

My wife & I keep having our garage lights shot out by a pellet gun. Every time I replace them, they are shot out within 1-2 months. This has happened 5 times now within one year. We keep reporting this to the police, but it doesn’t help. I have a security camera that aims towards the driveway. But because it’s recording through my window, the night vision doesn’t work. Because I work 12 hour shifts at night, this is when it happens. The vandalism didn’t occur until we built a new attached 3 car garage. The vandal isn’t hitting the siding or anything else, just the 3 lights. They don’t even bother with the two lights on the porch. Only the 3 car garage. I even installed a motion floodlight to help scare the vandal away. This didn’t work either. We don’t know what else to do & would welcome any advice to catch this person. Thank you for reading this posting.
Also, the 3 garage lights are turned off by 10:00 PM. So they are not disturbing anyone during sleeping hours.
