Remote Camera Monitor?
I have a problem with someone vandalizing my mailbox. I want to capture a few still shots of this. So I’m looking for a still camera with good low light capabilities, that can be triggered by a motion detector or trip wire, take a picture, and save it on the built in card, so I can see it a few days later. I’m an engineer and can raft something together but I’m looking for a digital camera with a remote trigger capability and a standby mode that will alow it to wait in very low power mode for up to a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a tiny birdhouse on the ground just outside of my fence in my neighbors yard. What could it be?
In the past these neighhboors have reported us for our dogs barking to much. We suspect is is a motion detector or sound detecor. Hopefully it is not a camera, but we cant figure out what it is.

this yard had a motion detector that went off while walking thru somebodys yard at night [dont ask why] and we kno it went off because a red light came on and we heard a high pitch noise – is it likely there was a camera that got a picture?

Remote camera connected to a cell phone?
I want to buy this:
I want a digital camera that has a motion detector attached to it. The camera will automatically take a picture of anyone who breaks into my home while I am away. The picture will be sent to a website, where the evildoer can verify that I know what he looks like.
It is a good idea, a remote camera controlled by a cell phone. Why isn’t it on the market? How do I ask the cell phone people to make one?
Believe me. I gave up on selling this idea. It could be public domain as far as I care, or open to the first technophile who wants to patent it. I just want the camera!
Or is this something that homeland security doesn’t want people to have?

I HAVE JUST INSTALLED CCTV ON MY HOME. I AM ASKING FOR ADVICE REALLY. THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA, THAT TRIGGERS RECORDING, IS SET ON AN AREA THAT PEOPLE USE MAINLY. WHEN THE CAR IS ON THE DRIVEWAY, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT PEOPLE CAN GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY. HOWEVER WHEN THE CAR ISN’T ON THE DRIVEWAY, THERE ARE AREAS THAT A CRIMINAL COULD GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY UNDETECTED. DO YOU THINK THAT A CRIMINAL WOULD WALK THROUGH THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA ANYWAY. THE DETECTION AREA COVERS HALF OF THE DRIVEWAY, SO DO YOU THINK THE CRIMINAL WOULD TRIGGER THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT.
PS – THE SYSTEM DID CONVICT A CRIMINAL JUST 3 DAYS AGO. HE TRIGGERED THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT. HE WAS QUITE SHOCKED TO SEE WE HAD CCTV FOOTAGE OF HIM ACTUALLY KEY-ING OUR CAR. IT WAS OUR NEIGHBOUR BY THE WAY.
