In this video we will demonstrate how to use a weatherproof security camera housing to prepare an IP security camera for outdoor use. The following IP security camera is used for this demonstration. Although we are using this particular camera, all of the box style security cameras that CCTV Camera Pros supplies can use this same type of camera housing. Start by opening the latch on the back of the housing. This latch can be secured with a pad lock if desired. When the cover of the housing is opened, note the camera mounting plate that is on the inside. This is the piece that the security camera actually attaches to. This plate can be positioned by sliding the plate on the track inside the camera housing. Remove the plate from the housing to attach the security camera to it. The security camera attaches to the plate with a few screws. After the camera is attached to the mounting plate, the plate easily mounts back inside of the housing by pressing it into place. Once the plate is back inside the housing, you can slide the plate to the appropriate location from the housings camera lens window. When you are done adjusting the mounting plate, close the lid of the camera housing and secure the latch. The camera housing is typically attached to an outdoor camera housing bracket.
