My stalking vandal neighbor has 2 video cameras pointed in my yard. How do I build a scrambler to stop him?
My question is basically already asked above and I ask it because I already have over ,000 in damages due to my neighbor’s obsession of screwing with my stuff and he uses cameras to stalk and watch my every move to know when I am gone. I am on disability and cannot afford to go out and buy expensive security cameras or motion detectors. Only serious answers are wanted here so please limit responses only to serious ones

If you are absolutely convinced this is happening, contact the police and see if they can set up some kind of surveilance. Or, contact a company that does such stuff and see if they would be willing to set up a system pro bono for some good will. Another reasonably cheap alternative is setting up an eye or two to your computer and set streaming video directed to a website.
You can get "faux" cameras which will blink like security cameras and that might help.
Spray paint the lenses of the camera, or set up big signs that the camera can view that say to the effect, "Hey Peeping Tom, I know you are spying on me."
But, I would start with the police.
If they are hard wired into his system, no scrambler will work.

wow what a jerk….this is a tough one I don’t think you can build one..I have looked on the internet and can not find anything to help you..i had a neighbor that looked into our windows with binoculars, during the day and i couldn’t open my windows what i did was buy a film that covered the windows he couldn’t see in but i could see out..and what sucks there is no law against what this guys is doing..
I am sorry your going through all of this..maybe you can file a report for harassment..or buy fake cameras and point it at his house see how he likes it..I think you buy them from anywhere from 5.00 to 20.00
If he is stalking you by videoing your moves on your private property, you need to go to the police and make a complaint. No need for you to buy any equipment to scramble his signals etc, just get the law to stop him doing it.
This would fall under stalking. You need to contact the police and start filing complaints. Get an order of protection on him. I would also contact a lawyer to find out what you can do to protect yourself and your property.
If you are on disability, there may be lawyers that do pro bono work like this.
You would have to contact your state’s bar association for referrals.

You can’t build what you’d like to build – it doesn’t work that way, and if it did, the parts would be more expensive than just getting your own camera to catch him when he tresspasses on your property. Because that’s the only thing he is doing wrong, legally – tresspassing, and you must be able to bring something to the cops as evidence or you won’t get much help from them.
What you CAN do is install a flood light or two and aim them directly at the lenses. Totally flood the image and he won’t be able to see a thing…
You can get cheap ones for $10-20 at Walmart or Lowes.

if hes really stalking you then id talk to the police. also like the first commenter on this said a scrambler might not work.
i think you should maybe check craigslist or ebay you may find some reasonable priced cameras
set them up and post signs in your yard stating you have camera’s posted and another stating your yard is private property and all trespassers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law maybe it will make him think twice

There are other creative ways of stopping that sort of thing.

I would say just put up a sign blocking the view of the cameras.
First off you can buy security cameras for cheap and they can watch the record what happens when your gone, you can file a report for a form of stalking, and for putting you on camera with out your permission, and of course with the video you can sue for the damage done, and have hard proof. Scramblers are hard to make and expensive to buy, however you can build an EMP or electro magnetic pulse generator, which will temporally sever all electricity, but the take tech skills, and is illegal, so my suggestion is to take a picture of the part of your house that the camera sees, you can do this by holding a camera in front of the video cameras and the taking a picture, the go home print off the photo and tape it over the video camera and he will never be able to see when you come and go.

Go to the police and tell them. I then prefer you get a security alarm and weapons. If you have a weapon forget it. only if your neighbor tries to kill you because you told on him to the police.
